St. John’s Jewelers has been in Ellicott City for 40 years and we love what we do. And, we are proud to be a part of the Ellicott City community. Since we are open 6 days a week, it is sometimes hard to get out and about, so when we have a chance to, we grab the opportunity. Here are a few adventures we would like to share with you…
Independent Jewelers Organization Chicago Show, August, 2013
Several times a year Linda Miller (store owner) travels to jewelry shows like IJO’s Chicago show to purchase new pieces for the store, meet new designers, and keep up-to-date with the latest trends. Here are a few pictures from her recent trip to Chicago. Make sure to stop by the store and see what goodies she brought back.
2 Miles for 2 Hearts Memorial Run in Old Ellicott City
The team from St. John’s Jewelers, including owner Linda Miller, supported the 2 Miles for 2 Hearts Memorial run on August 17, in honor of Rose Mayr and Elizabeth Nass, the Mt. Hebron High school graduates who died in last year’s tragic train derailment in Ellicott City. Meg Ross, an employee at St. John’s Jewelers and Mt. Hebron senior said “It’s more than a show of school spirit; it’s a show of community spirit.” The event organizers met their goal of 500 runners plus many more – the entire community came together to support 2 Miles for 2 Hearts. All proceeds raised benefited The Elizabeth Nass Memorial Scholarship, The Rose Mayr Nursing Scholarship and The Howard County Fire and Rescue Services. Here is the St. John’s Jewelers team.
Enchanted Forest Book Signing
Have you heard about the new book “The Enchanted Forest: Memories of Maryland’s Storybook Park?” It was just released and they held a book signing on August 17th and August 18th. Linda Harrison Gardner, daughter of Enchanted Forest developer, and dear friend and employee of St. John’s Jeweler said, “I don’t think I ever realized what it meant to so many people.” The community is very excited for this book release and we are so happy for Linda and the authors, Martha Anne Clark, owner of Clark Elioak’s Farm and Janet Kusterer. We are also proud to give back to the community in meaningful ways. While we are not able to support all organizations, we will respectfully consider all donation requests that are received 6 weeks prior to the date needed.
